Aluminium Fire & Non-Fire Rated Doors and Windows
Product Overview
Fortis Fire’s aluminium fire-rated and non-fire-rated doors and windows are designed to combine safety, durability, and architectural versatility.
The fire-rated range is tested to recognised European standards, providing effective resistance against the spread of fire and smoke for a specified duration. This allows for safe evacuation and limits damage to other areas of a building.
The non-fire-rated range offers the same robust aluminium construction and modern aesthetic for internal partitions, facades, and entrances where fire resistance is not required.
Both ranges are engineered to meet the demands of contemporary construction, delivering compliance where necessary, and refined design everywhere.
Key Features & Performance
- Fire resistance: 30 to 120 minutes (tested to BS EN 1634-1).
- Non-fire-rated models: Same premium aluminium build without fire performance requirements.
- Configurations: Single or double leaf doors, fixed screens, sliding systems, or glazed panels.
- Material benefits: Lightweight yet strong extruded aluminium with excellent corrosion resistance.
- Design flexibility: Slim sightlines and a broad palette of finishes for modern architecture.
- Thermal options: Systems with or without thermal breaks for enhanced energy performance.
- Glazing compatibility: Accepts a range of fire-rated or standard glazing, depending on application.
Compliance & Certification (Fire-Rated Range)
All Fortis Fire aluminium fire-rated doors and windows are independently tested in accredited UK laboratories and supplied with certification covering:
- Achieved fire resistance duration
- Relevant test standards
- Test report references
Standards include:
- BS EN 1634-1 – Fire resistance and smoke control tests for door and window assemblies
